Queen Sugar Bash
QUEEN SUGAR BASH helps amplify the mission by creating a hugely popular showcase for Black LGBTQ+ performing arts to be seen, heard, followed and fairly compensated. QUEEN SUGAR BASH (QSB) is an affirming platform for Black LGBTQ+ recording artists, musicians, DJ’s, dance ensembles, slam poets, comedians. The QSB takes place every Summer in a lush outdoor setting. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and stools; to relax & enjoy an incredible array of entertainment as the sun sets and the stars soon canopy the skies.
QSB also creates opportunities for Black LGBTQ+ visual artists to exhibit & sell their works during the festivities.
We are especially proud to host The Queen Sugar Bash in Charlotte’s bustling Eastside - specifically the Albemarle Rd. corridor. Probably the city’s most diverse zip code, it is inundating with a richness of art, culture, history, commercial development and community pride.
The Queen Sugar Bash is HWF’s contribution to the sustainability and growth of Black LGBTQ+ arts and culture in the Queen City.
