Since 2015, Holiday Wish Foundation has believed that everyone deserves to feel seen, welcomed, and connected. What began as a celebration of resilience within the LGBTQ+ community has grown into a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening belonging through creative experiences that bring people together across cultures, generations, and communities.
Today, our work centers on one simple belief:

Our Story
Holiday Wish Foundation was founded in Washington, D.C., in 2015 with the inaugural Holiday Wish Gala—a black-tie celebration recognizing the achievements and leadership of LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly people of color whose stories were too often overlooked.
The response was extraordinary. The event sold out, proving that communities are strengthened when people see themselves reflected, celebrated, and valued.
As our organization grew, so did our understanding of what our community needed. We expanded our focus beyond recognition to creating opportunities where people could learn together, experience the arts together, serve together, and build lasting connections.
That evolution continues today.
While our roots remain an important part of our story, our mission has grown to embrace anyone seeking connection through creativity, culture, and community.
